`Aubert Eastside Russian River Chardonnay 2022 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard white wine from Sonoma County, California. Aubert is a boutique Chardonnay and Pinot Noir estate that produces wine from single-vineyard sites in Napa Valley and Sonoma. Founded by husband-and-wife Mark and Teresa Aubert in 1999, it is regarded to be one of California’s cult wine labels. Eastside is Aubert’s only Chardonnay expression from the Russian River AVA, but it is notable for producing powerful yet delicately elegant wines. Producer note. "The 2022 Eastside is both exotic and grounded, opening with complex gravelly, flinty tones that are the calling card of this special, rocky site. Passionfruit gelee and feijoa frame Eastside’s classic mineral tones, along with subtle white pepper spice and blanched almond. The wine finishes with a mouthwatering acidity that promises a long, healthy life in the cellar for 10 to 15 years or more. The wine is slightly hazy showing our commitment to minimal intervention winemaking."

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
