Aubert was founded by winemaker Mark Aubert and his wife, Teresa, in 1999. They meticulously select and farm their vineyards to produce fruit of exceptional quality, resulting in wines that display depth and complexity. Eastside is Aubert’s only Chardonnay expression from the Russian River AVA, but it is notable for producing powerful yet delicately elegant wines.

This vintage exhibits gravelly and flinty notes characteristic of its rocky site, complemented by aromas of ripe stone fruit and citrus. The wine showcases a precise structure with balanced acidity, suggesting the potential for ageing. This is a testament to Aubert’s commitment to producing distinct, minimal-intervention wines.

The 2013 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is one of the most tightly wound wines in this range. White pepper, crushed rocks, smoke, mint and lemon peel gradually open up, but only with great reluctance. Today, it is the wine's energy and tension that stand out above all else. A vivid, mineral-drenched finish rounds things out in style.Antonio Galloni1st January 2015

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
