CIX Estate Pinot Noir 2023 is Mark Aubert’s high-elevation Sonoma Coast estate Pinot Noir bottling. The 1.5-litre format here provides an ideal environment for the slow development of its savoury complexity, which includes notes of rosemary, sassafras and blood orange. This wine is defined by its white volcanic soil origins and its status as one of the later blocks to be harvested, ensuring maximum flavour development. Its youthfully compact finish and mouthwatering acidity are particularly suited to the extended cellaring potential offered by the magnum bottling.

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
