Château d`Angludet is a Cru Bourgeois property located in Margaux now regularly producing wines of grand cru classé quality. The 2019 release is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. Sweet red fruits with cedar and herbal complexity. Smooth and silky on the palate, enjoy 2023 - 2035.
91 Robert Parker
The 2019 D`Angludet has turned out nicely in bottle, delivering aromas of earthy red and black fruits, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate with a sweet core of fruit, ripe tannins and lively acids. This elegantly fleshy wine is reminiscent of a modern-day version of the 1989. - William Kelley
91 Vinous
The 2019 d'Angludet has a fine bouquet, well-defined with tobacco and pencil box aromas infusing the black fruit, taut and displaying beautifully integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, composed and harmonious, maybe missing a little grip, but it sashays along with style. Delicious Margaux. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. Neal Martin1st February 2023

Biodynamic winemaking in Médoc

Home to the Sichel wine merchant family since 1961, Château Angludet is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc, with a history dating back to the 12th century. Although officially a Cru Bourgeois property, Angludet has made great strides in recent years and nowadays makes wines which are considered to be of Grand Cru Classé quality.

Angludet owns a single 32-hectare vineyard overlooking the Gironde estuary in Margaux, where the gravelly, sandy soils produce wines with particular finesse and elegance. Cabernet Sauvignon is the main grape variety planted, representing 46% of plantings. Merlot (41%) and Petit Verdot (13%) make up the remainder.

Since 1989 the property has been run by Benjamin Sichel, one of whose most important innovations has been the introduction of biodynamic viticulture (the estate has been certified biodynamic since 2022). Combined with Benjamin’s great skill as a winemaker, this has greatly contributed to the vitality and balance of the estate’s wines, which are consistently among Margaux’s finest.
