Ambriel Classic Cuvée is a non-vintage, Champagne-method sparkling wine produced in West Sussex, UK. A classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this excellent-value English sparkling wine spends five years ageing on lees before disgorgement, offering a dry, racy palate with hints of white flowers and toast. "Very impressive effort from Ambriel, this Chardonnay-dominant cuvee with 5 years on its lees scored one of the highest marks in our tasting. Rich biscuity notes, delicious baked apple notes, balanced lively acidity, rich creamy length with good complexity for the price." Rose Murray Brown MW, 2022

The NV Classic Cuvée is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It has a straightforward, brioche-scented bouquet that might just lack the complexity of its peers, but feels fresh and vibrant. The palate is slightly bitter on the entry, with Granny Smith apples and good acidity, but feels a little short on the finish.

73% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir, 2% Pinot Meunier. Bottled 17 July 2012 and spends 24 months on lees. Dosage 8 g/l.
Smells very pure, crushed apples. Tiny bit cidery on palate, perry-like, and quite sweet. Good, biting acidity, but not quite yet nipping at the heels of the best English fizzes. (TC)
