Made from equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this Extra Brut style sees a dosage of 3.3g/l. Produced from organically farmed vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzy, a village on the northern edge of the Montagne de Reims in Champagne.
92 Robert Parker
Sourced from 25 small plots of vines spread across the village of Verzy, Renoir`s latest NV Verzy Grand Cru Le Terroir (2021 base) is a blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Based on the 2021 vintage and complemented by 20% reserve wines from 2020, it was disgorged in February 2024 with a dosage of 0.8 grams per liter. Aromas of crisp pear, orange zest and white flowers waft from the glass. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, bright and tensile, with an incisive spine of acidity reflecting both the cool vintage and the northern slopes, concluding with a long, mineral finish. - Kristaps Karklins
