Distilled at Bunnahabhain in December 2025 and filled into a Bourbon Barrel at 63.5% ABV, this Staoisha cask offers an opportunity to acquire heavily peated Islay spirit at the very beginning of its maturation journey. Filled with 200 litres of new make spirit at 63.5% ABV on the 1st December 2025.

Staoisha is the peated spirit produced at Bunnahabhain Distillery, combining the distillery`s rich, oily character with robust peat smoke and maritime influences. Bourbon maturation allows these distinctive characteristics to remain at the forefront, gradually introducing notes of vanilla, honey and soft oak while preserving the spirit`s coastal character.

Distilled at Bunnahabhain on 30th April 2025 and filled into a First Fill Oloroso Butt, this cask presents a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial parcel of exceptionally characterful Islay spirit at the very beginning of its maturation journey. Filled with approximately 500 bulk litres of new make spirit at a remarkable natural cask strength of 69.7% ABV, this cask promises a long and fascinating maturation ahead.

Bunnahabhain is renowned for producing one of Islay`s most distinctive and elegant single malts, celebrated for its rich, oily texture and naturally fruity, nutty character. Maturation in a First Fill Oloroso Butt is particularly well suited to the distillery`s robust spirit style, gradually imparting layers of dried fruits, dark chocolate, walnut, sweet spice and polished oak while complementing the distillate`s naturally maritime and malty character. Over time, the generous size of the butt will encourage a slow, measured interaction between spirit and oak, allowing complexity and depth to develop without overwhelming the distillery`s signature style.

Williamson is the trade name independent bottlers use, by convention, for whisky from Laphroaig, one of Islay`s most pungently peated distilleries and a longstanding favourite for its medicinal, tarry, iodine-like smoke. This single first-fill bourbon barrel should combine that signature intensity with extra sweetness and spice from fresh American oak. think TCP and seaweed alongside vanilla, coconut and lemon. A powerful, uncompromising dram best suited to seasoned peat lovers rather than newcomers, and an interesting way to try Laphroaig-style spirit outside its official bottlings.

Tamdhu is a Speyside distillery whose official range is matured exclusively in sherry casks, giving official bottlings a rich, dried-fruit character. This single cask is different. a refill barrel, previously used and therefore more gently seasoned, letting the distillery`s fruity new-make spirit itself come through more clearly. Expect a lighter, brighter dram with orchard fruit, malt and vanilla rather than heavy sherry richness. Bottled relatively young from the 2022 vintage, it offers an unusual, cask-driven look at Tamdhu spirit away from its house style.

Whitlaw is the name given in the whisky trade to single malt distilled at Highland Park in Orkney and bottled independently, outside the distillery`s own range. This cask, filled in 2022, is maturing in a refill barrel, already used once before, so the wood`s influence is gentler and more of the spirit`s own character can develop. Expect early hints of Highland Park`s typical style. heather honey, orchard fruit and a soft trace of peat smoke. Suited to those following its maturation as a cask investment rather than drinking it now.

Whitlaw is the name used in the whisky trade for single malt distilled at Highland Park in Orkney and bottled independently, outside the distillery`s range. This cask, distilled in 2022, is maturing in a refill barrel, previously used at least once, which lets more of the spirit`s own character show through than heavy oak influence. Expect early signs of Highland Park`s house style emerging. heather honey, orchard fruit and a gentle whisper of peat smoke. Best suited to those tracking its maturation as a cask investment rather than drinking now.

Killarow is a trade name used in the independent bottling world, understood to indicate spirit from Bowmore, Islay`s oldest working distillery, best known for a distinctive style that balances gentle peat smoke with saltwater brine and soft, honeyed sweetness. Matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, this single cask should show classic Bowmore character with an extra layer of vanilla and coconut from fresh American oak, layered over the distillery`s trademark smoky, maritime, slightly floral profile. A characterful, independently-bottled Islay dram for the curious collector.
