Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains

Les Vaucrains is generally regarded as one of the great vineyards of Nuits, its wines often rivalling those of Les St Georges, above which it sits. The wines of Les Vaucrains are however more brooding and muscular in style (though certainly not lacking in elegance and finesse). These wines are best enjoyed afters a decade or more of bottle age. Leading producers with landownings in Les Vaucrains include Henri Gouges, Domaine Emmanuel Rouget, Domaine Chevillon and Lucien Le Moine.
