Based in Ventura, north of LA, the wines of Sine Qua Non regularly notch up perfect scores from critics while the waiting list for a direct allocation is well over 10 years.

 Officially founded in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl, Sine Qua Non rapidly garnered remarkable critical acclaim for their exceptionally limited production wines made from classical Rhône Valley varieties. The Duel Syrah and Grenache from the 2008 vintage are part of the Extended Barrel-Aged program and are made entirely of fruit sourced from the estate Eleven Confessions Vineyard. This is 80% Grenache, 17% Syrah, 2% Viognier and 1% Roussanne.

 Sine Qua Non is the innovation of creative winemaker, Manfred Krankl, and is now a world-famous cult winery revered for producing miniscule quantities of unique Rhône Valley-inspired wines from some of the greatest vineyards across the Central Coast.

From the 1999 vintage, Tarantella is a blend of 39% Roussanne, 33% Chardonnay and 28% Viognier matured in mostly older oak barrels. Robert Parker described it as “one of the finest white wines” that Krankl has made and given the propensity for his wines to age, this should now be absolutely singing.

 Established in 1994, Sine Qua Non is possibly one of the most famous Californian cult wineries. The creation of maverick winemaker, Manfred Krankl, this winery is world-famous for producing miniscule quantities of unique Rhône Valley-inspired blends using fruit from high quality vineyards across the Central Coast.

The 2008 B 20 is made up of 92% Syrah, 6% Grenache, and 2% Viognier. In the words of critic James Suckling, " Intense aromas of raspberries and blueberries with hints of flowers and minerals. Full and dense with a beautiful purity and intensity. Very long and intense. Deep."

Icarus from 1999 is a blend of 80% Grenache, 18% Syrah and 2% Viognier with fruit sourced from the Alban and Stolpman vineyards. Now approaching its peak drinking window, this full-bodied, rich and decadent release, exudes charming notes of black cherry, plum and raspberry fruit with subtle hints of woodsmoke, earth and cracked black pepper.
