Hosted by Abigail Clephane

Like many Scottish distilleries, Bruichladdich has had a somewhat tumultuous existence. The distillery was mothballed four times in the 20th century & it seemed like it would close for good in the mid-1990s when it was deemed "surplus to requirements" by its owners. Thankfully, it remained open & was purchased by a group of passionate investors in the year 2000 who took the distillery to new heights, bottling superb aged malts from the cask library & distilling a whole host of exciting new drams.

The distillery's-own Abigail Clephane will host this superb tasting, which brings together the best of "old" & "new" Bruichladdich, discussing the distillery's varied past & delving into the production techniques behind each dram poured on the evening.

Guests will enjoy a selection of bottlings including Black Art 6.1 1990, Octomore 8.1, Octomore 9.3, Port Charlotte MRC:01, Port Charlotte 10YO & Bruichladdich Rare Cask 1984.

Tickets for this tasting are £50, fully redeemable against any purchase of Bruichladdich whisky on the evening.

Established in the late 1800s, Glenrothes has experienced its fair share of misfortune over the years. The distillery was severely damaged by no fewer than four large fires in its early years & was nearly never even built in the first place after funds ran short during the initial construction. Luckily for single malt connoisseurs, these setbacks were overcome & Glenrothes established itself as a key player in world famous blends such as Cutty Sark & The Famous Grouse.

Douglas McIvor will be pouring the whiskies at this tasting which will feature five superb drams - Glenrothes 12 Year Old, Glenrothes Bourbon Cask Reserve, Whisky Makers Cut, 18 Year Old & 25 Year Old.
