Wittmann’s 2024 Riesling Trocken is a dry, mineral white wine from the limestone-heavy soils of Westhofen, Rheinhessen. This estate bottling opens with aromas of lemon zest, green apple and a subtle herbal lift. On the palate, the wine is lean and vertical, showing a salty mineral core and a sharp acidity that provides immediate freshness. Fermentation in traditional large oak vats adds a light textural weight without masking the citrus fruit. The finish is dry and stony, reflecting the chalky terroir of the southern Wonnegau.

Predominantly sourced in Westhofen, the Wittmann 2024 Riesling trocken Estate is deep, pure, fresh and chalky/saline on the stimulating and characterful Wonnegau nose that reveals perfectly ripe and intense fruit. Aged in 3,000-liter oak vats and in stainless steel, this is a round, intense and crystalline, citric and finely tannic dry Riesling classic from a classic vintage. 11.5% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in Westhofen, August 2025. - Stephan Reinhardt

The 2024 Riesling trocken was harvested by hand from both Westhofen and the surrounding villages on calcareous marl and limestone. More than half of this fermented in wood, with the rest in stainless steel. A lovely verve of lemon and grapefruit colors the pale peach on the nose. Juiciness, lightness, coolness and direction drive this forward, bringing on immense refreshment. This is beautifully dry and totally crisp. (Bone-dry) Anne Krebiehl10th September 2025
