The Vouvray Cuvée Constance Moelleux Huet 1989 is a notable vintage from this historic Loire Valley producer, Domaine Huet, renowned for its commitment to biodynamic viticulture. Crafted exclusively in exceptional years, this sweet Chenin Blanc is derived from meticulously selected grapes affected by noble rot. The wine displays a golden-amber hue, indicative of its concentration. Aromas may include mature stone fruits, honeyed notes, and citrus peel, with a palate that balances rich sweetness against marked acidity. This expression contemplates a long maturation, reflecting the terroir`s complexity and the vintage`s favourable conditions.

This is a revelation. The ’89 Cuvee Constance has a sensational nose of pure acacia honey, honeycomb, marmalade, crushed flowers and orange liqueur. The palate is perfectly balanced with intense candied fruit. mango, white peach, lemon sorbet (it reminds me of Rossi’s lemon sorbet ice-cream…available in Southend-on-Sea) and just a touch of caramel. It just seems to expand in the mouth, lacquers every pore, delivers hedonism with delicacy. Heavenly! Tasted June 2006.

Full bottle 1,500 g.Deep glowing amber. Lots of life and sweetness but this bottle is just starting to dry out. Hint of golden syrup and masses of life and flowers. Very long. (JR)
