Domaine Bertagna Vougeot Clos de la Perrière 2002 is a mature, full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru of Clos de la Perrière in the Vougeot commune of the Côte de Nuits. Established by Claude Bertagna in 1950s, Domaine Bertagna is one of the leading wine producers in Vougeot. The estate was acquired by the Reh family in 1982 and has been managed by Eva Reh-Siddle since 1988, with various winemakers at the helm. This particular expression comes from Clos de la Perrière, a walled Premier Cru vineyard in the Vougeot appellation, owned entirely by Domaine Bertagna.

Vinous
Deep red. Aromas of smoked meat, roasted herbs, mocha, underbrush and mellow oak. Sweet and fat but a bit facile. Offers a smoky richness but comes across as a bit rustic and earthy, beyond the primary fruit stage. Tannins seem a tad dry. Still, the finish shows more grip than the 2003 version.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2005
