Louis Jadot Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 2001 is a 1er Cru Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. The climat of Les Beaux Monts lies above Echézeaux Grand Cru, with a small section crossing the boundary into Echézeaux itself. Several of its parcels straddle the border between Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echézeaux to the west. The Jadot 2001 was matured for 15 months in oak barrels.
88 Vinous
Deep, bright red. Still working through its malic acidity and a bit mute on the nose. Shows a more layered texture and good chewy extract, but quite reduced and hard to assess today. Finishes with very good breadth, though.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2003
17 Jancis Robinson
Deepish crimson. Much more life on the nose and complexity than the Nuits. Depth. Intrigue. Round, supple and very arresting. Covers the tannins almost completely. (cask sample) (JR)Jancis Robinson31st January 2003
