Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts Bouchard 2010 exemplifies the distinctive character of Red Burgundy, sourced from one of the region`s prestigious Premier Cru vineyards. This wine displays a complex aromatic profile of red fruits, earthy undertones, and subtle spice, offering a glimpse into the terroir`s richness. Bouchard Père & Fils, established in 1731, is one of Burgundy`s oldest producers, known for its traditional methods and extensive vineyard holdings, ensuring a faithful expression of the region`s heritage.
89 Vinous
(made from purchased wine): Medium ruby. Aromas of blackberry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate. Sweet and fairly large-scaled in the middle, and a bit exotic, with soft flavors of redcurrant and spices. Finishes with substantial fine-grained tannins but could use more lift. Flashy wine, like lipstick, notes Prost.

Timeless legacy in Burgundy’s heart

Established in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest and largest wine estates in the Côte d’Or. In 1995, the estate was acquired by the Henriot family, whose portfolio also includes William Fèvre, Beaux Frères, Château de Poncié and Champagne Henriot. Bouchard boasts vineyard holdings totalling approximately 130 hectares, including 74ha of Premiers Crus and 12ha of Grand Crus, with as many as 450 different individual plots. While the maison’s vast mosaic of holdings are weighted towards the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits is also a major focus.

The maison’s original vineyard was purchased by Joseph Bouchard in Volnay Les Caillerets in 1775. Not long after Beaune Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jesus followed. Now one of four Bouchard monopole vineyards, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus was once owned by the Carmelite order of nuns and is the source of Bouchard’s flagship wine. Bouchard’s extensive suite of wines is produced and aged at the state-of-the-art, gravity-fed Cuverie Saint Vincent in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Once bottled, the wines are stored beneath the historic Château de Beaune, built in the 15th century by King Louis XI and purchased by Bernard Bouchard in 1820.

With almost 300 years of savoir-faire, from its unrivalled multiplicity of terroirs, Bouchard stands as one of the most eminent names in Burgundy winemaking.
