Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 2013 is a village Burgundy Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat winemaker Charles Van Canneyt, who took over from his grandfather, Alain Hudelot-Noëllat, in 2008, is regarded as one Burgundy`s rising stars and produces very fine Pinot Noirs, including highly rated village wines. At one en primeur, Neal Martin observed that Van Canneyt`s village crus were "some of the finest that I encountered across all my tastings". "An overtly spicy nose offers up notes of black cherry, cassis, violets and a hint of sandalwood. In the same fashion as the Chambolle villages this possesses a refined mouth feel along with plenty of punch on the medium-bodied flavours that deliver slightly better depth and length on the delicious and better balanced finale. There is a mild green leaf character to the finish but it`s not enough to really detract from the overall appeal." Burghound, 2016

Bright, dark red. Blueberry, blackberry, licorice and crushed stone on the nose. Juicy, penetrating and tight but not hard, conveying lovely inner-mouth aromatic lift to the dark berry flavors. This superb, youthful village wine shows excellent structure and lingering perfume. More impressive from bottle than it was from barrel.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2016

The 2013 Vosne-Romanée Village has a delicate red cherry, bergamot and strawberry-scented bouquet that gently unfolds but never gets carried away. The palate is well balanced with confit-like red berry fruit, strawberry jam and boysenberry, revealing satisfying weight on the finish. This has very good potential for a Village Cru and comes strongly recommended for those who cannot afford the Grand Crus.Neal Martin30th December 2014
