The Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château Comte Liger-Belair 2006 is a notable expression of Burgundy, crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the renowned monopole vineyard Clos du Château. This vineyard resides within the historic Château de Vosne-Romanée`s walls. Under the stewardship of Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, the domaine is known for employing biodynamic practices, aiming for a pure representation of vineyard terroir. The 2006 vintage follows a warm July, resulting in wines with pronounced fruit character and a distinctive minerality, reflecting the complexities of the Côte de Nuits region.

Good medium red. Expressive, nuanced nose offers redcurrant, spices and dried flowers. Quite open in the mouth, with a high-toned quality to the redcurrant, spice and iron flavors. This offers the finesse of texture of a Chambolle, but with firmer tannins.
88 Robert Parker
Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2006 Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château has a straight-laced bouquet compared to the 2005, linear and correct, with raspberry and blood orange aromas developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, dried orange peel and a pinch of white pepper, though, unlike the 2005, there is a touch of dryness appearing on the finish. I would drink this before the 2005. Tasted June 2015.
17 Jancis Robinson
Monopole. Lively, meaty, rather different from many other 2006s – more readable and less messed about – pretty exciting. Surely the best value of his offerings. GV (JR)
