Domaine Dujac is a prestigious family-run estate, which was established in 1968 by Jacques Seysses. Dujac is now run by Jacques’ two sons, Jérémy and Alec, and his daughter-in-law Diana Snowden Seysses, who was born and raised in Napa Valley. This release is the 2015 ‘Les Malconsorts’, a lieu-dit that lies southwest of the village of Vosne-Romanée. The 2015 vintage gave Dujac small yields but wonderful grapes to work with. The wines turned out clean, pure and concentrated but above all, well-balanced.

The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet whose only fault is that it will be difficult to resist in its youth. Copious red cherry and wild strawberry fruit lace with minerals, superb delineation and focus - this is a Malconsort that oozes confidence. The palate is medium-bodied but there is more density and volume here compared to previous vintages. The stem addition discretely interwoven with the fruit lending a light sous-bois note towards the sustained finish, and a tingle of spice on the aftertaste. Brilliant. Tasted at Flint Wines's Domaine Dujac tasting in London.Neal Martin1st March 2019

A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
