Established in 1988 by Henry Frédéric Roch, Domaine Prieuré Roch now encompasses around 20 hectares, spanning the historic terroirs of Gevrey Chambertin, Vosne Romanée, Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Ladoix, and Savigny-les-Beaune. Guided by Yannick Champ and his team, who have upheld the principles established by Henry Frédéric Roch, the estate has embraced organic agriculture and abstains from synthetic products in both vineyard management and winemaking. This exquisite Chardonnay undergoes whole bunch fermentation to retain its fresh fruit character and acidity. Sourced from approximately 30-year-old vines, the wine is fermented with skin contact, imparting notes of burnt orange peel and spice.

Prieure Roch

A Burgundian Titan

Founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch, whose family are part-owners of the famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Prieure Roch produce wine from vineyard parcels in communes as diverse as Ladoix, Chambertin, Vosne Romanée and Savigny Les Beune. Farming of the vineyards is done to organic standards, veering towards full biodynamics in some instances and cellar techniques are strictly traditional - vinified in large wooden vats, manual punching down and without the use of sulphur.

Wines are kept in barrel for 12-24 months before bottling, although some experiments with extended ageing have taken place - most notably in 2002. These are elegant wines with the ripeness and poise that one would expect from a family that also produce arguable some of the world's great Pinot Noir.
