Having only been established in 1989, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud have achieved an incredible amount in a short space of time with Château Valandraud, achieving St-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) status and earning a reputation as one of the benchmark producers of the region. Though best known for their red wines, they also produce a small amount of white, blended from Sauvignon Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon matured in around 70% new oak. Excellent to drink whilst youthful, zippy and zesty, but it has the ability to develop nice complexity in the bottle.

A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2017 Valandraud Blanc shows the more exotic side of Sauvignon Blanc, lemon confit, tangerine peel, passion fruit, white flowers and sage give this super-expressive white layers of dimension and real intensity. The 2017 Valandraud is distinctive and totally alluring.Antonio Galloni1st March 2020

The Valandraud 2017 Blanc is just a little closed to begin, giving way to fresh lemons, white grapefruit and white peaches aromas with hints of chalk and struck flint. The palate is super intense with racy acid, medium-bodied and incredibly minerally with fantastic length.Lisa Perrotti-Brown27th April 2018
