Château Troplong Mondot 1999 is a noteworthy red wine from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé. The estate is renowned for its impressive vineyard located on a distinctive clay-limestone plateau. The 1999 vintage features a blend primarily of Merlot, alongside elements of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This wine presents a profile of dark fruit and spice, complemented by subtle floral notes. The palate is characterised by fine tannins and balanced acidity, indicative of its capacity for ageing. Notably, Château Troplong Mondot has seen a shift towards precision in recent years.

Robert Parker
Elegant vanillin, black cherry, and smoky notes emerge from this textured, medium-bodied 1999. It has a dense ruby/purple color as well as an enormous, concentrated, finesse-styled personality. It is not a blockbuster, but it is a beautifully symmetrical, pure, ripe, well-balanced Troplong Mondot that will benefit from two years of cellaring and age gracefully for 14-15 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
