Tenuta di Trinoro Trinoro 1999 is a mature-vintage Bordeaux-style red blend from the Tuscany region of central Italy. This Rosso Toscana showcases Tenuta di Trinoro`s commitment to crafting Bordeaux-style blends with a Tuscan touch. The exact blend composition may vary from vintage to vintage, but it typically includes grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. These wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and the ability to age gracefully. They are made in small quantities, around 800 cases a year. The 1999 vintage is a blend of 70% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. "The 1999 Tenuta di Trinoro presents a distinctly over-ripe, almost raisinated personality, along with notes of chocolate and sweet toasted oak on a massively concentrated frame, with outstanding length and a lingering touch of sweetness on the finish. It shows excellent balance but should be a relatively early-maturing Tenuta di Trinoro."

As befits a producer who pushes the envelope, with this wine Franchetti seems to have gone a bit too far. - Antonio Galloni
