Domaine Trévallon Red 1994 is a full-bodied, mature-vintage red blend produced by Domaine de Trévallon in the Provence region of southern France. Located in in the medieval town of Les Baux-de-Provence south of Avignon, Domaine de Trévallon was established by Eloi Dürrbach – the son of prominent artist and friend of Picasso Réné Dürrbach – in 1973 and gradually earned a reputation as a producer of some of the finest red wines in the Provence region. A half-half blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, the domaine`s red is famously long-lived and complex. Typically, the wine is fermented with whole bunches and matured for two years in used barrels and foudres before being bottled unfiltered. The high proportion of Cabernet in the blend dictates that the wine cannot be labelled with the name of the local appellation protegée, Les Baux de Provence, and must instead be labelled as Vin de Pay.
