The Dram Takers Collection Volume 2 is a remarkable six-bottle release from Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin-based independent bottler whose stewardship of maturing Scotch whisky stretches back to 1895. Inspired by the ninth-century Book of Kells, the presentation features two figures raising a dram in a gesture of unity and celebration, an apt introduction to a collection encompassing 352 cumulative years of maturation. The set comprises six whiskies from five distilleries: Glen Grant 1948 and Glenlivet 1949, both aged 74 years; Glenburgie 1963 at 60 years; Longmorn 1966 at 55 years; and Teaninich and Speyburn, both distilled in 1977 and matured for 45 and 44 years respectively. What makes the collection particularly compelling is that every cask has been laid down and nurtured by Gordon & MacPhail itself, providing an extraordinary level of provenance and continuity across four generations.
