The vintage Port wine produced by Taylor`s demonstrates an astonishing ability for extended and gradual maturation within the bottle, and the 1983 vintage, after a patient four decades, has finally reached its pinnacle. Displaying a deep cherry-burgundy hue with a fading rim, the wine is stylish, aromatic, and characterized by concentrated fruit flavours, including raisins and plum jam. Medium-full bodied, it features rounded tannins and finishes on a chocolate note.

Fine Port Since 1692

Established over three centuries ago in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest Port houses. Noted for their for their restrained power and longevity, Taylor’s Vintage Ports are blended from the finest wines of the firm’s own quintas or estates, Vargellas, Terra Feita and Junco, with each property occupying a distinct geographic location and contributing their own unique character to the blend. Taylor’s is also respected as a producer of wood-aged ports and holds one of the largest reserves of rare cask aged wines from which its distinguished aged tawny Ports are drawn. Added to that, the house is also known as the originator of Late Bottled Vintage style of Port.

Headquartered in Oporto with vineyards across the Douro Valley the company is closely involved in all stages of the production of its Ports, from the planting of the vineyard and the cultivation of the grapes to the making, ageing, blending and bottling of the wines.
