Taylor’s Vintage 1963 is a mature vintage Port wine from the historic Taylor’s Port house in the Douro Valley. The 1963 vintage is regarded as one of the greatest of the 20th century, and Taylor’s is consistently cited as one of the top performers of the year. This Port was matured for two years in oak vats before being bottled for long-term ageing. Now fully mature, it offers a profound and complex bouquet of walnuts, dried figs, raisins and a hint of spiritual warmth. The palate is incredibly concentrated and still retains a remarkable level of structural power and grip.

Fine Port Since 1692

Established over three centuries ago in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest Port houses. Noted for their for their restrained power and longevity, Taylor’s Vintage Ports are blended from the finest wines of the firm’s own quintas or estates, Vargellas, Terra Feita and Junco, with each property occupying a distinct geographic location and contributing their own unique character to the blend. Taylor’s is also respected as a producer of wood-aged ports and holds one of the largest reserves of rare cask aged wines from which its distinguished aged tawny Ports are drawn. Added to that, the house is also known as the originator of Late Bottled Vintage style of Port.

Headquartered in Oporto with vineyards across the Douro Valley the company is closely involved in all stages of the production of its Ports, from the planting of the vineyard and the cultivation of the grapes to the making, ageing, blending and bottling of the wines.
