Tara Pinot Noir 2021 is produced by the renowned Tara vineyard, which is situated in the distinctive Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, known for its cool maritime climate and diverse soils. The wine is crafted from meticulously selected grapes, undergoing fermentation with a focus on depth and structure. Maturation occurs over 11 months in French oak barrels, with a portion being new. This limited reveals subtle layers of red fruit, balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Tara from Huasco, Atacama, was aged for 24 months, 50% in French foudres and the rest in concrete eggs. Ruby red in the glass. The clear, precise nose offers sweet and sour cherry with hints of cinnamon, herbs and raspberry against a complex backdrop of pastry aromas. Smooth and satisfyingly expressive with good tension and finely grained tannins. This is a dynamic red with a slightly saline profile and a slim, compact finish. An unusually austere Pinot Noir from the cool, sun-kissed coast.Joaquin Hidalgo1st June 2023

The 2021 Red Wine 1 Pinot Noir fermented 35% with a five- to seven-day cold soak, 35% with carbonic maceration and the remaining 30% with a traditional fermentation, all with indigenous yeasts and only using minimal sulfur after malolactic. It matured for 24 months, 50% in untoasted 1,500-liter oak vats and 50% in 1,000-liter concrete egg. It has a dark cherry color and is one of the ripest of the wines, with 13.5% alcohol and very good freshness and acidity, coming through as balanced with notes of dark berry fruit and an earthy twist. It`s medium-bodied with some dusty tannins that give it a slightly rustic edge. It needs time in the glass, where it improves with air and the rustic twist seems to go away. 7,333 bottles were filled unfined and unfiltered in March 2023. - Luis Gutiérrez
