Château Talbot is a 4ème Grand Cru Classé property in the heart of Saint-Julien and embodies the commune’s character, offering a generous bouquet, complex mineral depth and excellent longevity. The 2001 vintage is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, showing a classic cassis profile with liquorice and cedar complexity.

The 2001 Talbot is a little cleaner on the nose than the 2000, featuring pretty red berry fruit, wild hedgerow, balsamic and star anise scents and opening nicely with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with more pliant tannins than the previous vintage and a grainy texture. Just a little dry toward the finish, but there’s a pleasantly savory, oxtail-tinged aftertaste. Fine.

The vineyard is managed sustainably, with a focus on preserving the natural environment and producing high-quality grapes.

In recent years, Château Talbot has invested heavily in modernizing its winemaking facilities while still maintaining the traditional methods that have made it successful for centuries. The estate's commitment to quality and sustainability, combined with its rich history and exceptional wines, make it a must-visit for wine lovers visiting Bordeaux.

Beyond the Grand Vin, Château Talbot produces a second wine called "Connetable de Talbot" and a white wine called "Caillou Blanc de Talbot".
