Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The 1989 Talbot has fine attack on the nose: red cherries, bergamot tea and pressed rose petals developing from the glass, maybe they just miss the cohesion and sophistication of the 1986. The palate is medium-bodied with rather harsh, edgy tannin. Notes of black tea and tobacco infused the red fruit with a grainy -textured finish that shows just a touch of dryness on the aftertaste that makes me think it might be better to crack this open sooner rather than later.

Bright bricky garnet. More evidently leafy than the Langoa, and that makes it smell younger, still of blackcurrant leaves and capsicum, even lavender, though there is a light meatiness. Not as long as the Langoa but richer than I expected from the nose. There`s still a slight grip in the tannins and I wonder if there always will be. The tannnis may well outlast the fruit. After an hour, more liquorice on the nose and perhaps just a little dry on the palate but not dried out. (JH)
