Having honed her skills as a winemaker working at some of the finest estates in Argentina and around the world, Susana Balbo finally established her own winery in 1999 in the heart of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. This is a fresh, aromatic and engaging rosé made in the dry and delicate Provençal style from Malbec and Pinot Noir. A wonderfully food-friendly wine, it pairs brilliantly with smoked salmon, spicy Asian cuisine or grilled poultry.

Cropped from a cold vintage, the ultra pale 2022 Susana Balbo Signature Rosé was produced with a blend of very early harvested Malbec (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) from Valle de Uco, with only 12.5% alcohol and great freshness and acidity. It has a profile closer to a white than a light red, in fact; it`s almost transparent and so young and austere on the nose that it could very well be confused with a white, a blanc de noirs. It`s sharp, vibrant and very tasty. 53,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022. - Luis Gutiérrez

60% Malbec, 40% Pinot Noir from vineyards at 1,050 m (3,445 ft). Hand-picked. Refrigerated for 24 hours. Malbec grapes with some bunches were pressed at low pressure, while the Pinot Noir grapes underwent a four-hour maceration in the press. Fermentation in stainless steel at 12–14 °C (54–57 °F) with selected yeasts for 20 days.Strikingly elegant with the same salinity of acidity that is on the Signature White Blend. The fruit runs long and chiselled and refined. Fine-wine rosé that would do as much justice to fine dining as a picnic in the mountains. (TC)

The 2021 Rosé Susana Balbo Signature is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Pinot Noir from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. A very pale onion-skin pink in the glass. The enticing nose presents rose petals, cherry and hints of herbs. Dry with accomplished tension and freshness from the natural acidity, it is vibrant but well-balanced. - Joaquin Hidalgo
