A high-ester pot still rum bottled in Italy by the Trieste-based firm Stock during the mid-20th century. This expression represents the traditional heavy style of Jamaican distillation, featuring intense notes of overripe tropical fruits, molasses and funky dunder. The spirit was matured in tropical conditions before being shipped for European bottling, resulting in a profile of significant depth and aromatic power. At 40% ABV, the palate is robust and oily with secondary layers of tobacco and dark spices that linger on the long finish. It provides a rare look at the historical trade between Caribbean producers and Italian distributors, capturing a style of rum that served as the backbone for many classic mid-century cocktails.
