Château Saint-Pierre is one of the three estates owned by Domaines Henri Martin, along with Château Gloria and Château Bel Air Gloria. The 17-hectare estate is currently undergoing organic conversion and holds a High Environmental Value Level 3 certification. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. On the nose, expect notes of espresso, smoke, tobacco, incense, spice and red currants. The palate is soft, seductive, and long, with a focus on its core of ripe, polished, earthy, black currants, chocolate and coffee beans.
95 Jane Anson
Rich, deep, young, vibrant, this is delicious, just at the begininning of its life, fiercely powerful tannins holding the blueberry and bilberry fruits in place, softened by cocoa dusting and liqourice on the finish. Remi di Constanzo technical director.Jane Anson20th February 2023
95 The Wine Independent
The 2020 Saint-Pierre is deep garnet-purple in color. It has slowly emerging scents of fresh blackcurrants, black raspberries, and redcurrant jelly, plus hints of cast-iron pan, cedar chest, and menthol. The medium-bodied palate is tightly packed with black and red berry layers, plus loads of mineral sparks, framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with impressive length.Lisa Perrotti-Brown12th March 2023
94 Vinous
The 2020 Saint-Pierre has a well-defined, very precise bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and touches of bay leaf and loam. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a keen line of acidity, lightly spiced with a vivid, white-pepper-tinged finish. Delightful and gentle. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.Neal Martin12th November 2024
