E Guigal St Joseph Lieu Dit 2010 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Syrah grapes in the St Joseph appellation of the northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for quality Côte-Rôtie. "The 2010 St.-Joseph Lieu-Dit St.-Joseph is loaded with strawberry, black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with hints of smoke and crushed rocks. Deep, rich and full-bodied with even more vivid minerality than the 2009, it should last for 15 or more years." Wine Advocate, 2012

A full-bore, concentrated and age-worthy St Joseph that checks in near the top of the appellation, the 2010 St Joseph Lieu Dit St Joseph offers classic bacon fat, spice, barbecue smoke and assorted dark fruits, with the stunning minerality common in the vintage. Full-bodied and structured, with tons of extract, bight acidity and lots of tannin, it needs 3-4 years of cellaring but will have 2+ decades of longevity.Jeb Dunnuck14th September 2015

Dark purple. Extroverted aromas of candied plum, cassis and minerals, with a smoky topnote. Dense and sweet but showing surprising vivacity, with bright, spicy lift to its concentrated cherry, dark chocolate and violet pastille flavors. A seamless, broad and fleshy wine that shows the ripeness of the vintage in its best light, with supple tannins adding grip to the finish.Josh Raynolds1st March 2013

Benchmark for Côte-Rôtie excellence

Founded in the village of Ampuis by Etienne Guigal in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for Côte-Rôtie Syrah. A pioneer of the single-vineyard concept in this appellation Guigal is best known for its top three wines, known affectionately as the 'La-Las', which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque – the domaine's top Syrah vineyards .

Other notable vineyards of this 75-hectare estate include La Doriane (the source of Guigal's Condrieu), Ex-Voto (used for Hermitage) and Vignes de l'Hospice (the source of one of Guigal's top St-Joseph Syrahs). All of these have become benchmark wines of their respective appellations. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation completes the roster of Northern Rhône estate vineyards.

Since 2006, Guigal has made a substantial investment in appellations of the Southern Rhône, using top-quality purchased fruit from trusted growers in Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and the Côtes du Rhône.
