Fifteen years maturing in American oak and Spanish oak casks have allowed this bold whisky to embrace the rich, natural elements of Speyside. Hints of rich dark chocolate with spicy notes of raisins, zesty citrus fruits and vanilla. On the palate there are notes of oranges, toffee, vanilla and leather, all wrapped together with a gentle spice. The long lasting finish has a warming spice which is sweet and creamy.

Over a Century in Speyside

Nestled in a picturesque valley on the northern edge of Rothes in Speyside, Speyburn produced its first single malt on the 15th December 1897, the year of Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee.

Speyburn sources its water from the Granty Burn, a tributary of the River Spey, and is the only distillery to use these soft, clear waters. Inside the distillery, long fermentation times and a special distillation process, whereby the wash still charges two spirit stills simultaneously, are the foundation of Speyburn’s light, sweetly fruity house style.

The flagship Speyburn single malt is a 10-year-old expression, although older official bottlings – 15-year-old and 18-year old – are also available. In addition, independent bottlings of Speyburn single malt, such as the 12-year-old Flora and Fauna release, have become collector’s items.
