Sociando Mallet 2010 presents a deep ruby color, indicative of its concentrated nature. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, and a hint of cedar. The palate reveals medium to full-bodied flavors with a blend of dark fruits, subtle tannins, and a touch of oak, providing structure and depth. The acidity is well-balanced, ensuring a refreshing quality that paves the way for a moderate finish.
Situated in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux, Sociando Mallet is known for its consistency and age-worthy wines. The 2010 vintage benefitted from ideal growing conditions, yielding grapes that matured fully. This wine is a blend primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Its potential for further aging makes it a notable choice for collectors and enthusiasts interested in exploring the evolution of Bordeaux wines.

The 2010 Sociando Mallet has a well defined, pure bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and light estuarine scents that gently waft from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a fine bead of acidity and good weight. It just needs more complexity and terroir expression on the finish. Give this another two or three years. This is one wine where I have encountered better bottles. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. - Neil Martin
