The Silver Oak Alexander Valley 1999 is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County, California. This vintage exhibits a colour typical of aged Cabernet, with a deep ruby hue. Aromas of blackcurrant and plum are present, coupled with subtle undertones of cedar and dark chocolate, a result of the maturation in American oak barrels. On the palate, it showcases a structured body with integrated tannins, along with a lengthy finish.

The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley exhibits a deep, saturated ruby/purple color. The wine possesses aromas of sweet toasty oak, earth, spice box, cherries, and currants. It is a soft effort for this vintage. The wine has medium body, and good fruit and flavor. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.

Deep fresh ruby-red. Brooding aromas of currant syrup, licorice, naphtha and tobacco leaf. Fairly intense flavors similar to the aromas. Still quite youthfully tight, but offers solid concentration and very good length. Just a hint of greenness on the end; the firm tannins reach the teeth.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2002
