A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenère, 12% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, this red wine hails from the Aconcagua Valley in Chile. The 2015 vintage produced fruit with 13.5% alcohol, showcasing exceptional balance due to the warm, dry climate. Aged for 22 months in 65% new French oak barrels, it reflects its hillside origins with marked volcanic minerality. The profile reveals blackcurrants, tobacco leaves, and balsamic herbs. Sena, established in collaboration with renowned vintner Robert Mondavi, is acclaimed for its pursuit of harmony among Bordeaux varieties, contributing to its reputation in the fine wine sector.

The 2015 Seña is the product of a warm, early ripening year. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carménère, 12% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, it spent 22 months in two thirds new barrels or foudres (12%). Dark garnet red in the glass. The fruity, open nose offers notes of blackberry and blackcurrant with floral aromas, herbs and hints of ash and cedar. Juicy with a refined texture, a smooth feel and mild freshness, it’s complex in the mouth with well-defined flavor. A focused wine with a slightly herbal aftertaste.Joaquin Hidalgo3rd August 2022

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenère, 12% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc.Reductive nose that has a pungent black rubbery flavour, and the acidity sticks out. There is clearly quality fruit in here, but it seems obscured. Is this just too young? (RH)
