Schrader CCS Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Oakville district of Napa Valley. This cuvée is sourced from a block within the historic To Kalon single vineyard, known for producing fruit of extraordinary power and phenolic ripeness. The 2012 vintage was a classic for Napa, delivering wines with lush, seamless tannins and great aromatic volume. The bouquet is profound, featuring notes of crème de cassis, graphite, violets and lead pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and multi-layered, displaying an incredible concentration of dark fruit without any sense of heaviness.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is gorgeous. Often one of the more open-knit, silky wines in the range, the CCS plays in an upper register of sweet perfumed aromatics, bright red fruit and super-finessed tannins. A long, polished finish rounds things out in style. Even though the CCS is one of the more delicate wines in the Schrader lineup, the new oak is totally integrated. In the end, great wine are all about balance, and the 2012 CCS has that in spades. This is a magnificent showing.Antonio Galloni1st December 2014

In Search of the Perfect Cabernet

Fred Schrader founded Schrader Cellars in 1998 with a goal of making the best Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon possible. Since then, the brand has gained renown for its incredible vineyard sourcing (Beckstoffer To Kalon, Las Piedras, and Georges III) and remarkably gifted winemaker, Thomas Brown. Since its inception, Schrader has achieved a total of thirty-five 100-point scores from the likes of The Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Jeb Dunnuck, and James Suckling.

Formally an art dealer, Fred Schrader had long been searching for terroir that would allow him to producer high quality Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa - that search led Fred directly to the office of legendary grape grower W. Andrew Beckstoffer. The partnership began with a small selection of vine rows in the historic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard - as the partnership great, so did the number of vines available to Schrader and now some of the finest blocks in To Kolan go into Schrader's wines.
