Owned and managed by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, Domaine Leroy is one strand of the Leroy group, along with Maison Leroy and Domaine d`Auvenay. After continuous and strategic expansion, today the estate consists of approximately 23 hectares, including impressive vineyard holdings in nine Grands Crus and eight Premier Crus. This Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru comes from a 0.81-hectare plot in the lieu-dit of Les Narbantons, south of the appellation. On the nose, expect sweet redcurrants, spices and woody floral notes. The palate reveals a remarkable concentration, piercing acidity and more layers of spices.

Excellent ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of cassis, black cherry and smoke. Supple, dense and ripe; fruity and forthcoming. Very long on the palate. This should be accessible early but age slowly. Superb for this wine.Stephen Tanzer1st March 1998

Burgundian Royalty

The Leroy name is a key pillar of the Burgundian wine scene and a leading light in the Côte d'Or, with three main strands: Domaine Leroy, Maison Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay (a small, biodynamically farmed Domaine founded by Lalou in 1988).

In 1988, recognising the trend towards domaine bottling in Burgundy, Lalou Bize-Leroy purchased what would become Domaine Leroy: an estate situated in Vosne-Romanée (previously known by the name Domaine Noëllat). Domaine Leroy labelled wines are thus are produced from parcels of grapes grown on the 22ha of domaine-owned Côte d'Or vineyards, which span nine different Grand Crus. These wines are produced biodynamically and at extremely low yields, resulting in superbly concentrated expressions of the Burgundian terroir.
