Domaine de la Vougeraie Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc 2023 is a white Burgundy produced from biodynamically farmed vines situated in the cooler northern sector of the Côte de Beaune. This bottling is defined by a high degree of tension and a bright citrussy energy that results from the limestone-heavy soils of the appellation. The 2023 growing season provided a profile of green apple, white blossom and wet stone with a lean and focused structural frame. It underwent fermentation and maturation in French oak with a minimal use of new wood to ensure the primary fruit and mineral salinity remained prominent. The palate is light to medium-bodied and offers a refreshing verticality and a crisp finish.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
