Damien Laureau Savennières Le Bel Ouvrage 2015 is a full-bodied Chenin Blanc dry white wine from the Savennières appellation of the Loire Valley. The wine is produced from two plots. one on rhyolite and another on grey schist. Fermented and aged in 10% new oak. "This is a deep, ripe and intense Chenin with super ripe fruit flavours and fine mineral flavours from the rocky soils. On the palate, this is a full-bodied intense, piquant and elegant Savennières with ripe, juicy and well-concentrated fruit and fine tannins. The finish is long and aromatic as well as clean and well-structured. It’s a powerful and intense but elegant and persistent Savennières that should be aged for some years." Robert Parker, 2017

The 2015 Le Bel Ouvrage is just a delight with its tangy grapefruit like flavors and savory nuances that may be a reflection of its 18 months in barrel on lees, plus that fact that it is starting to develop. A wonderful zest and linearity pierce its core. Full of energy, vigor and lots of life ahead. Fades a little more quickly than I'd like. Rebecca Gibb6th September 2022
