Savage Are We There Yet 2024 is a red blend from the Western Cape region of South Africa. Produced by winemaker Duncan Savage, this wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Touriga Nacional, sourced from old vines in the Malmesbury area. It offers a vibrant and spicy profile of black pepper, wild berries and floral notes, with a refreshing acidity. It is fermented with a portion of whole clusters and aged in old oak to preserve the purity of the fruit and the mineral tension of the site.

The 2024 Are We There Yet is a blend of 43% Touriga Nacional and 57% Shiraz, using 10% whole cluster with two weeks on the skins, basket pressed and aged in used 500-litre French oak. It has a perfumed nose with black fruit, brine and black olive scents that slowly open in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, but there is real complexity here. Introspective compared to Savage's other labels, with a comparatively austere finish, this will demand time…but it will be worth the wait. Neal Martin2nd October 2025
