Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Tenuta San Guido’s flagship wine, Sassicaia, is made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. The first vintage of this iconic Super Tuscan was in 1968 and to this day is characterised by all the hallmarks which have established this wine as one of Italy’s standout wines. sumptuous fruit, fine texture, beautiful perfume and effortless balance. The 2019 displays notes of currants and berries, cedar and earth, together with herbal character. Enjoy from 2026 onwards.

Tasting this in a vertical with a good 20 year gap between the oldest and the youngest wines, and although this is only five years old, with clear density to the flavours, it's striking that the soft caress of the tannins that you find in the 1988 is still in evidence in the younger wine. Smoky peat aromatics, rich red cherry, raspberry, balsamic, iron, oyster shell salinity, a careful climb in the tannins, it's all here already. A wonderful vintage in Tuscany, great clarity on the palate, the feeling that you are in the presence of true beauty. The 2019 Sassicaia is restrained and also a bit reticent in its first impression. Rose petal, dried herbs, blood orange, mint, sweet pipe tobacco and cinnamon give the 2019 striking aromatic presence. The 2019 is a mid-weight, very classic feeling Sassicaia that is going to need a number of years to open. There's good fruit depth, but the tannins are not as polished as they usually are. That could be a result of lingering stress from frost that year or recent bottling. The 2019 saw 18-20 days on the skins with natural ferments. Malos followed in tank. Aging was 25 months in barrel (1/3rd new), a longer elevage than normal. The 2019 shows beautifully with a few hours of aeration, so I am optimistic for the future. Let's see what happens. Full bottle 1,370 g.Not too hot a year, cooler than 2020. The estate`s harvest began on 5 September with some of the younger Cabernet Franc and Merlot vineyards destined presumably for Guidalberto. On 9 September, thanks to fine weather and north winds, the harvest proper began with the first Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Very healthy grapes with quite high sugar levels but overall respectable analytical values and in some ways similar to the 2016 vintage. September continued with some thunderstorms between the middle and the end of the month, which prolonged the harvest, especially of Cabernet Sauvignon. Crop levels were slightly above those of 2018 but nearly 13% below 2016. Total acidity was 6.05 g/l and pH 3.47. Rain on the night of 6/7 October prolonged the harvest, completed with grapes from the heights of Castiglioncello di Bolgheri on Wednesday 9 October. Vines for Sassicaia are all at elevations of 100 to 400 m. After sorting of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes that comprise Sassicaia`s ingredients, spontaneous fermentation ended in mid October with maximum temperatures of 26–27 °C with frequent delestages and pumping-over. Malolactic conversion took place spontaneously in tank at the end of November thanks to the low external temperatures. In early December, after frequent decanting to clean the musts, the wine was put into barrique in the first ten days of December 2019. The wine was then put in French oak barriques (40% new, 40% second use, 20% third use) for 25 months and then decanted into tanks for final selection, blending and bottling. Tenuta San Guido’s flagship red wine, Sassicaia wine, has become a Tuscan icon in its own right. This fine wine, made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, is characterized by all the hallmarks that have established it as one of Italy’s standout wines: sumptuous fruit, fine texture, beautiful perfume, and effortless balance. A prototype of Super Tuscan wines, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta decided to experiment with Bordeaux varietals, noting a similarity between the geography of Tuscany and Graves in southwest France.

Early vintages of this iconic Italian wine were only available to taste at the winery. The 1968 vintage was the first Sassicaia wine to be sold to the public, and in 1994, Sassicaia was granted its own official DOC: Bolgheri-Sassicaia DOC. Early vintages received mixed reviews, but the introduction of Tronçais oak barriques in the late 1970s saw a rise in quality that has been maintained ever since. Alongside the Grand Vin, the Tenuta San Guido estate produces a second wine, Guidalberto, and a third wine, La Difese.
