Salon 2006 is a blanc de blancs vintage Champagne exclusively sourced from the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs. The 2006 Champagne vintage was truly rare and exceptional, yielding wines of power and concentration. This magnum bottling showcases a bright chalk-driven core, with profound notes of citrus oil, smoke and brioche, built on a monumental structure that demands decades of cellaring. It was disgorged after more than 10 years on the lees with zero dosage.
96 Vinous
The 2006 Salon (Edition 2019) shows a decidedly tropical, exotic profile that is unusual for Salon. Passion fruit, mango, apricot jam and wild floral notes race across the palate as this sumptuous, radiant Salon shows off its alluring personality. Vinous, textured and flamboyantly ripe, the 2006 is one of the most hedonistic Salons in recent memory. I have had slightly fresher examples, but the style of the wine is always the same. Dosage is 5.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: January, 2019. Antonio Galloni1st July 2019

Rare and Beautiful

One of the world's most famous prestige cuvée, the first vintage of Champagne Salon was 1905, although it wouldn't be until the 1920s that these wines were finally released to the public. An unparalleled Blanc de Blancs, Salon comes from a single hectare plot and nineteen other smaller plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and the wine is only prouced in the very finest vintages. As a result, the 20th century saw only 37 bottlings of this fabled Champagne.

Every bottle of Salon is held at the estate cellars for 10 years before release. The result is a highly complex, layered Blanc de Blancs Champagne which has the capacity to age for decades.
