Only produced in the best vintages Salon is an unparalleled Blanc de Blancs, produced from a single hectare plot and nineteen other smaller plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The 1996 vintage has met with resounding success amongst the critics, with Robert Parker`s Wine Advocate commenting that it "represents the apotheosis of Blanc de Blancs, unfurling over the course of three hours with a stunningly complex bouquet of citrus oil, confit lemon, dried white flowers and oyster shell, with hints of praline and pastry cream becoming more pronounced as the wine opens up in the glass. On the palate, it`s medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, defined by the incisive spine so typical of the vintage that, here, is cloaked in layers of crisp fleshy and chalky extract. The finish is long, penetrating and saline."
99 The Wine Independent
Maturing into a medium golden color, the 1996 Salon reveals open-knit, alluring scents of butterscotch, dried apricots, pineapple upside-down cake, and preserved lemons, plus wafts of sea spray and praline. The light to medium-bodied palate delivers Salon’s classic razor-fine backbone of acidity with rich, evolved caramelized tropical fruit layers while the bubbles remain exquisitely tiny and persistent. It gives a very long, mineral-tinged finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown30th October 2023
97 Vinous
Clear with green tints in the glass, the 1996 Cuvée S has developed nicely in recent years, losing some aromatic green apple traits and evolving subtle, creamy scents, even with a suggestion of chamomile in the background. The palate has scintillating balance—real penetration and energy, revivifying the senses with its crisp and chiselled finish. It will easily last 30 more years. Neal Martin12th June 2025

Rare and Beautiful
One of the world's most famous prestige cuvée, the first vintage of Champagne Salon was 1905, although it wouldn't be until the 1920s that these wines were finally released to the public. An unparalleled Blanc de Blancs, Salon comes from a single hectare plot and nineteen other smaller plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and the wine is only prouced in the very finest vintages. As a result, the 20th century saw only 37 bottlings of this fabled Champagne.
Every bottle of Salon is held at the estate cellars for 10 years before release. The result is a highly complex, layered Blanc de Blancs Champagne which has the capacity to age for decades.
