Salon 1976 is a distinguished Blanc de Blancs Champagne, exclusively crafted from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The 1976 vintage benefited from a notably warm growing season, resulting in exceptionally ripe and concentrated fruit. This Champagne underwent extensive ageing on its lees, imparting a complex profile of mature fruits and subtle nuances. Aromatic notes may include dried fruits, hints of citrus and delicate floral elements. The palate offers a well-structured balance of acidity and depth, showcasing the hallmark characteristics of Salon, a house renowned for its commitment to quality and tradition since 1921.

Vinous
The 1976 Salon combined elements of the taut house style with an extra dimension of fatness from bottle age. The wine was rich and energetic, with tons of length and pretty notes of tar, smoke and licorice that lingered on the finish.Antonio Galloni1st June 2009

Rare and Beautiful
One of the world's most famous prestige cuvée, the first vintage of Champagne Salon was 1905, although it wouldn't be until the 1920s that these wines were finally released to the public. An unparalleled Blanc de Blancs, Salon comes from a single hectare plot and nineteen other smaller plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and the wine is only prouced in the very finest vintages. As a result, the 20th century saw only 37 bottlings of this fabled Champagne.
Every bottle of Salon is held at the estate cellars for 10 years before release. The result is a highly complex, layered Blanc de Blancs Champagne which has the capacity to age for decades.
