Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a highly regarded wine estate and négociant business based in Chassagne-Montrachet. Pierre-Yves started his own Domaine in 2005 after gaining valuable experience working at his family`s estate, Domaine Marc Colin. This cuvée comes from Les Champlots, a Premier Cru within the Saint-Aubin appellation where the estate owns a 0.65-hectare plot. Expect a razor sharp and precise white burgundy, with notes of lime, white pepper and orange blossom.

Pale yellow. Classic calcaire aromas of lime, lemon, white pepper and powdered stone. High-pitched and brisk in the mouth, with the crushed stone character carrying through. Lovely precision here.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2015

The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Champlots has a more austere bouquet compared to Pierre-Yves's other premier crus: stony, touches of damp moss in an old churchyard. The palate is well balanced with sharp acidity on the entry: sour lemon, hints of apricot with quite an intense saline finish, this is a very well-crafted Saint Aubin that should repay time in the cellar. There's something enigmatic about this wine.Neal Martin30th December 2014

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Minimalist approach to Burgundy wines

Established in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2001 through the collaboration of Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey (both hailing from historic Burgundy winemaking families) the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate comprises approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across the appellations Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Meursault.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the eldest son of St-Aubin winemaker Marc Colin. Since leaving his family domaine in 2005 to launch his own winery, Pierre-Yves has become one of the most-lauded winemakers on the Côte d'Or. His approach is very much minimal-interventionist: no batonnage for whites; minimal racking and extended élévage across the board.

Pierre-Yves’ vineyard holdings are centred on the Côte de Beaune appellation of St-Aubin (including the Premiers Crus of Chatèniere, Champlots and Remilly) and Chassagne-Montrachet (including the Premiers Crus of Chenevottes and Caillerets).

Pierre-Yves’ cellar is shared with his wife, Caroline Morey. The daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, whose family has cultivated vines in Chassagne since the 16th century, Caroline created her own domaine in 2014.
