Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin En Remilly 2017 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of En Remilly in the Saint-Aubin commune of the Côte de Beaune. The Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate was formed in 2001 when Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey – both from Burgundy winemaking families – joined forces. Today they produce wines from approximately 13 hectares of vineyards, situated in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. On the 2017 En Remilly. "Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey`s En Remilly comes from three parcels - one in the higher part of the premier cru and two in its heart, closer to Chassagne-Montrachet. As you might expect, this makes it a very complete expression of the well-located site. The southern exposure produces a wine with weight and intensity, but it`s still very fresh, with the balance, focus and precision you can count on from the domaine. The best St-Aubin of the vintage." Decanter, 2018
Vinous
(from three essentially south-facing vineyards; one-third 25-year-old vines and two-thirds 55): Pale yellow-green. Quite different on the nose than the Chatenière, offering fascinating scents of lemon and white peach complicated by herbs, mint and a suggestion of petrol. Impressively rich and thick but not oily, with flavors of lemon and lime ice enlivened by nicely integrated acidity. The palate-saturating finish is tactile but smooth, displaying terrific lift and length. There's no obvious rain effect here, due to the slope of the vineyards.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2018

The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is quite giving this year, bursting with expressive aromas of pear, pastry cream, green apple, fresh peach and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with an easygoing, open-knit profile that makes it quite an accessible, precocious rendition of this site.William Kelley31st January 2019

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Minimalist approach to Burgundy wines

Established in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2001 through the collaboration of Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey (both hailing from historic Burgundy winemaking families) the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate comprises approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across the appellations Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Meursault.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the eldest son of St-Aubin winemaker Marc Colin. Since leaving his family domaine in 2005 to launch his own winery, Pierre-Yves has become one of the most-lauded winemakers on the Côte d'Or. His approach is very much minimal-interventionist: no batonnage for whites; minimal racking and extended élévage across the board.

Pierre-Yves’ vineyard holdings are centred on the Côte de Beaune appellation of St-Aubin (including the Premiers Crus of Chatèniere, Champlots and Remilly) and Chassagne-Montrachet (including the Premiers Crus of Chenevottes and Caillerets).

Pierre-Yves’ cellar is shared with his wife, Caroline Morey. The daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, whose family has cultivated vines in Chassagne since the 16th century, Caroline created her own domaine in 2014.
