Based in Saint-Aubin, Domaine Marc Colin et Fils is a family-run wine estate that produces both red and white Burgundy. Founded in the 1970s by Marc Colin and his wife Michèle, the estate comprises approximately 19 hectares over various appellations, including vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. This particular cuvée hails from En Remilly, a prestigious Premier Cru vineyard situated in the Saint-Aubin appellation. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was challenging due to various weather conditions throughout the growing season. However, despite the difficulties, many producers such as Marc Colin managed to craft wines of good quality.

Wafting from the glass with scents of crisp yellow orchard fruit, ripe white peach, beeswax and oyster shell, the 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and charming, with a deep and voluminous core of fruit, lively acids and a saline finish. This has gained in tension with élevage.William Kelley9th January 2020

The 2017 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru feels rather closed on the nose compared to its peers. The palate is quite malic on the entry, presenting sour lemon, apple peels and a pinch of spice. Modest in depth, this just feels a little severe at the moment. I have a feeling this is an En Remilly that has just closed down and suffered in a blind tasting, hence the question mark against my score. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Neal Martin1st August 2021
