Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the legendary wine producer that needs no introduction. Based in the village of Vosne-Romanée, the estate is jointly owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. DRC has the monopole of two Grand Cru sites, including the eponymous Romanée-Conti, a 1.8-hectare vineyard that has been organically farmed since 1985. This flagship cuvée is widely regarded as one of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir and highly sought-after. Reds from 1983 were quite tannic and hard when young, but they have rounded out over time and blossomed beautifully.
